Dyan Cannon has worn many hats in Hollywood – from actress and mother to writer and director. As a TV guest star, Cannon caught the attention of not only Hollywood but also future husband, Cary Grant. Their marriage put on pause a promising film career until her return to screen in the late sixties when she contributed to the rebirth of noir and became a staple in many domestic dramas – drawing inspiration from end of her own much talked about marriage. Cannon would continue working in front of and behind the camera for decades. Her stage name, given to her by producer Jerry Wald, referred to an “explosive” quality he first saw in her. Cannon has kept that fire burning ever since.
