The Thin Man
Based on the novel by Dashiell Hammett and 1934 movie of the same name, this was a weekly television series that started in 1957. MGM produced the original film, and the studio also produced the TV program that had Peter Lawford and Phyllis Kirk step into the characters of Nick and Nora Charles. Fans love these characters - Nick is a former private detective who retired with he married Nora (and her wealth). However, retirement didn't last long. This sophisticated couple loves solving murder mysteries almost as much as they love one another. This is clear from their witty banter, which is almost as famous as the original couple's near-constant drinking.
Notable guests of The Thin Man television series include Lawford's close friend Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Robert Taylor, and Nina Foch.
We have 25 episodes from the series' first season, which will be aired in chronological order in 5 back-to-back blocks every Wednesday night. Get ready to fall in love with Nick and Nora - and their loyal terrier Asta - all over again.
